Sadists r us…

Sadists r us…

Salam,

My blogging activity have become nonexistant lately. I have been sick and between going to the hospital for checkups, coming down with a cold and nursing a bruised ego, all creative (ceh, kreatif ke aku?) ideas seem to be drained out of me. I did manage however to go for a soire with a friend while i was on mc (doktor suh berehat, gedik pulak berjimba!), after which when i felt like i’m going to collapsed, i went to get my hair cut AND also went for a facial. Terer tak mak? The haircut was much needed since my hair was out of shape (bukan badan saja boleh out of shape ok..) and it was depressing the hell out of me, who says that when you wear the hijab, you don’t need to look good? Meh sini aku tempeleng kepala orang tu laju2…Hence, the facial too. I was in the mood to be pampered, well, i am supposed to be recuperating…. I went to my favourite salon in Kotaraya, it’s not a posh place but i love the aunty who does my hair to bits. She understands what sytle suits my face and didn’t charge heaven and hell for it. The salon owner also does, facials and threading. This is where my story can get interesting or bore you to death…

So, when my haircut was done and i was feeling really happy because i look damn fine! it was time for my facial. I had the honour of having the owner herself do my facial. Prior to this particular facial, the last facial i had was like more than 5 years ago. I forgot what a bitch it could be!I was surprised at how rough errr how fast she slapped on the cleanser and scrub on my face, no pampering, relaxing massage there. After which i was left to be steamed for maybe 10-15 mins? At first i felt relaxed but when the steam got a bit too steamy(?) until it was hard for me to breathe, and the condensed-steam-turned-water run down my not so small nostril, almost choking me (drama queen kan), i felt like calling out loud ; MY FACE IS DONE! CUT THE STEAM! but i didn’nt. I endured the water trickling down into my nostril…. and tried blowing through my nose, which made it spurt out. I must’ve been a sight. After what felt like an eternity, the steaming finally stop, she came and wipe the water and other gunk off my face and started to tackle my white heads which were not chronic in my opinion but she squeezed my bulbous nose like her life depends on it (well..it is her livelihood..) and at one point pinched it close that i had to breathe from MY MOUTH! The nerve..! IT HURTS LIKE HELL!! This is the reason why i stopped doing facials, the incessant whiteheads/pimple squeezing which in my opinion is torture. As if that’s not enough torture, when the owner asked me if i wanted to do threadding on my brows and upper lips, guess what? i said yes! I know it’s a sin to mess with the brows and what not but i am a hairy woman and i don’t wish to look like jabba the hunt and have en. laki point out that my moustache is exceptionally lovely today while trying to romance him. So i did it and it was an experience that only sadists would love. Try yanking one of your arm hair, pain? try yanking 10 hairs at once! You get the picture… When i left the salon, i vowed not to put myself go through that torture again but as the days passed and i see improvements on my skin, i’m already planning on my next visit… Sigh, the price you have to pay for beauty or maybe…. i am a sadist at heart…
