Kenapa scones aku pahit????

Sebenarnya scone ni dah lama aku buat, same day as the strawberry jam and kebetulan pulak sebelum tu, aku ada tengok kat Rachel Allen, Bake! Macam senang je aku tengok, so apa lagi…gigih!

Scone tengah kena bakar…

Menjadi uolls…. tapi…. kat sini aku sedih la… scone aku ni, PAHIT! Seriously, aku tak tau silap aku kat mana sebab aku ikut resipi dia bolat2 kali ni tak de pun mereng ke kanan ke, ke kiri ke, seteret tau! Aku suspek pahit ni mesti sebab soda bikarbonat and i was right! Bila aku goggle, rupa nya memang ada orang sensitive dengan SB and BP. Alternative nyer kena lah buat resipi sendiri kan? hehe.. Something yang memang kepakaran aku, cooking without a recipe…well an exact recipe la… tapi nak menunggu mood untuk bake tu lambat betul… ada je.. penat lah, tak sempat lah, nak keluar lah, malas lah 😛 so..rancangan tergendala sebentar.

Hari ni baru aku ada mood untuk bake. Ini lah hasil scone aku tadi, alhamdullilah, menjadi.. SEDAP!

Resipi scone buah kering @ Mix fruit Scone :

  • 250 gms Self raising flour (may need more if the dough is a bit sticky)
  • 50 gms castor sugar (i like my scones sweet, you can less the amount if u want)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 60 gms unsalted butter (i didn’t have any so i used salted anchor butter, made no difference to my unrefined palette)
  • 100 gms mix dried fruit
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1/2 of an egg + enough water to make 150 ml of liquid
  • eggwash – i was lazy so i just used milk as an eggwash 😀

Mix all dry ingredients and the butter using your finger tips until they resemble sand. Then pour in the liquid and mix it all until it becomes a soft sticky dough. Pat into an inch thickness and cut into your desired shape. Bake in 220 degress oven until brown and it feels dry..
