Iftar Menu day ~ lost count already : Nasi Pilaf, Ayam masak merah & Paceri nenas

Pening tau kepala nak pikir apa nak masak untuk berbuka puasa. Aku malas nak masak yang biasa-biasa sebab jelak, bukan makan je jelak, nak masak pun jelak. Nak beli… laki aku tak suka, nanti dia membebel, panas telinga gua beb. Walaupun sebenarnya aku lebih suka beli,  kan, tak penat… :P

Semalam aku dok memebelek majalah lama cari resipi, Good Home Cooking tahun 2002, jumpa resipi nasi pilaf yang simple, lauk pulak aku nak try Spicy Roasted Chicken and paceri nenas tu memang aku dah tau masak.

Nasi Pilaf

Ingredients :

  • 4 cups basmathi rice
  • 4½ cups of water (more if you like em softer)
  • 4 shallots – chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic – chopped
  • 1 inch ginger – sliced fine
  • 50 gm butter + 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp raisins
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 star anis
  • chicken powder & salt to taste

Method :

  1. Heat butter and oil, when hot pop in the cinnamon stick and star anis, stir a few minutes then saute the onion, garlic and ginger until caramelized (food network influence).
  2. Pour the rice in, stir to coat evenly leave it alone for 2 minutes then pour the water and the rest of the ingredients. Leave to cook.

The Spicy roasted chicken i realised was just ayam masak merah roasted.  I didn’t have time to roast the chicken so i just fried until golden and simmer in the sauce. This is what it looks like with everything plated ~ nyuuummm!.
