One of my favourite breads is the french baguette. I am totaly, totaly crazy about french baguette, unfortunately, the ones that i like are kind of expensive (for me..people, for me…) it’s the french baguette from ‘Breads’ and costs like RM7 (i think) and it’s not available anywhere. I have to go to Bukit Indah, or Tebrau Mall to get one. I think i prefer the Bukit Indah’s more though. I have tried to make bread on numerous occasion, i even went to class to study how to make bread but because i hate using my industrial size mixer to make the dough and also because i am am lazy (the real reason) bread baking has been taking a backseat on my baking forrays. That is until i found a recipe for a no knead bread. I thought it was too good to be true ….. and it was… (again, for me … people) it just didn’t come out the way i expected it to. By then i was frustrated and decided to take things into my own hands. I made my own bread using the recipe that was given but tweaking it to adapt to my style and what do know…. BREAD…

Isn’t she lovely… (say she is or i’ll beat you with her….)? I am so proud of this bread, it took many, many mutant shaped and funny tasting, predecessor to make her….:P
This is the recipe :
- 3 cups of bread flour or wheat
- 1/4 tsp of instant yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- two pinch of salt
- 1½ cups of lukewarm water (i think… or until the dough doesn’t stick to the mixing bowl)
Method :
- Mix everthing together, make a ball with the dough, leave to prove for an hour, come back sprinkle flour on your workstation, shape the dough into your desired shape and leave to prove for another 2 hours
- Bake in a pre-heated oven – 250 centrigrate and don’t forget to put in a bowl of water in the oven during the baking process so that your bread have a nice crust…

This is one way of eating it. I actually wanted to make a cheese and oyster mushroom omellete but end up scrambling it… haha no matter, it tasted good anyway…
